Process

Advanced Injection Molding

The process begins with the validation of your injection mold design for manufacturing. Once it's confirmed, we proceed to the injection mold-making phase. After finalizing the mold, we prepare for plastic part manufacturing. Before full-scale production, our injection molded design team conducts a trial run (T1) to inspect parts for defects.

We share our findings with you and provide sample parts for the first article inspection (FAI). Depending on your part's requirements, we establish quality standards and conduct in-process inspections throughout production. Our state-of-the-art equipment helps us check for part integrity, color accuracy, and common defects like flash, blush, sink marks, and warping.

Once the samples are approved, we're ready to commence manufacturing. Molded Designs collaborates closely with you to understand your ordering patterns, allowing us to schedule production to meet your just-in-time needs. We aim to have parts ready for shipment from our plastic injection molding factory in High Point, North Carolina precisely when you require them. We also keep track of on-shelf quantities to assist in estimating your future needs.
